June 1982
David Y. Souga, the curator of Aixin Museum , made a trip to Beijing . A local guide introduced him to an elderly calligrapher, and Souga got a work written by the calligrapher. The guide exaggerated that the calligrapher had been the Last Crown Prince of China. Later, Souga being interested in the signature of "Aixinjueluo" on the work wrote a letter of thanks to the calligrapher. And this was the very beginning of the history.
1983
Souga with his wife visited Beijing again to see the calligrapher, Yuzhan Aixinjueluo.
1985
The new book of reminiscences entitled "After Puyi left the Forbidden City " was sent from Yuzhan to Souga, which was written about Puyi Aixinjueluo, the Last Emperor of China, by his closest relatives and attendants including Yuzhan. Reading the book, Souga noticed that the calligrapher Yuzhan himself was no doubt the real Last Crown Prince of China.
1988
Having spent three years, Souga translated the book into Japanese, and published it.
1989
Souga joined in the production of the Japanese edition of the teleplay "The Last Emperor" (28 volumes, originally produced by CCTV), which was broadcasted twice in Japan as a part of the memorial programs at the start of NHK's toll satellite television.
1990
At a request of Yuzhan and Chinese Art Garden (the municipal art bureau of Beijing City to which Yuzhan was belonging), Souga and his wife visited Beijing . They discussed for the establishment of a museum in Japan to exhibit the works of art written and painted by Yuzhan and other famous artists of the royal family, and decided that Souga would establish a museum and the City of Beijing should donate the works to Souga. Souga built a house for exhibition beside his restaurant Sato-no-chaya in Takehara, and soon closed the restaurant business.
In November, exhibiting the donated works by fifteen Aixinjueluo artists, the Aixinjueluo (Aixin in short) Museum named by Pujie, Puyi's younger brother, was inaugurated. Yuzhan, his wife, and several important persons concerned were invited from Beijing for about a month. Other exhibitions are held in turn at Tenmaya Department Stores in Hiroshima, Okayama, Yonago, Fukuyama, and Mihara, otherwise in the districts of Osaka, Nagano, etc. Various activities such as "the Aixin Museum cultural class" on Chinese history, art, and literature; "the art appreciation class for beginners"; "the tours to China in connection with Aixinjueluo"; and the publication of "the Aixin Museum News" were started.
