Aixin symposium‐1

Beijing ―now and old

July 2, 2005 AIXIN MUSEUM

A symposium, the first chapter of the serial Aixin symposium on "China and its art", was held on Saturday, July 2, at Aixin Museum in Takehara City. The Museum is known for its collection of the artworks of calligraphy and painting created by the Aixinjueluo, the Chinese Last Emperor’s family. About ten persons of Takehara and Higashi-hiroshima districts joined in the symposium. Zhang Jian, a staff of the Museum and also a Chinese graduate student of Hiroshima University, explained about "Beijing, now and old"―the history of the city and the recent state of the preparations for the Olympic Games showing the photographs.

Mr. Hirotami Uesugi(68), one of the participants to the symposium, said "As I was born in China and moved to Japan after the war, I listened to his speech with keen interest and nostalgia, and learned much about the present China. I’d join again".
